Disney Inspires New Generation of Pirates
There have been many Disney movie-inspired attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. Movies like Swiss Family Robinson and Toy Story have inspired attractions or rides. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by the ride. After the huge success of the movie, the sequel movies inspired a whole new generation to play pirate. Based off of the character Captain Jack Sparrow, Disney started Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial.
The pirate tutorial occurs multiple times a day in Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park’s Adventureland. The tutorial is popular with kids, tweens, and adults but really anyone can enjoy learning to be a pirate. And to be a pirate, you have to be recruited for training.
Volunteers in the crowd need to raise their hand to be selected to learn sword fighting. Only four people are selected from the crowd. The pirates-in-training then learn Captain Jack Sparrow’s “distract and flee” method of pirating. However, due to certain weather factors, the show may be cancelled since it occurs outdoors.
Disney’s outdoor-mini show Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial only lasts for 25 minutes. Depending on the weather, it is usually scheduled to take place several times a day. If someone in your family wants to train under Captain Jack Sparrow, check Disney’s Magic Kingdom Time Guide to search for times or cancellations. Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial is accessible for individuals in wheel chairs.
If you want to try your hand at sword fighting, be sure to volunteer for pirate training. If you aren’t picked, you can still enjoy the show and watch the new pirates learn the art of sword fighting. Your entire family will enjoy watching the show.
